Easy Access Features
Navigation “skip link”
In the menu at the very top of each page, there is a link that allows visitors using screen readers or navigating using the keyboard to skip over the content of the page and go directly to the navigation. This is helpful because it makes it quicker and easier for these users to move around the website pages.
Access keys
Navigating this website is made a little easier by “access keys”. These provide “shortcuts” to important pages on the website.
This site uses the following access keys:
- 1
- Home – the ILS home page.
- 2
- Services – information about how we may be able to help you.
- 3
- Resources – things to help you find advice and more information.
- 4
- Search box – allows you to search this website.
- 0
- Accessibility Statement – about the accessibility of this website and how to customise how you view the pages.
Windows users can use access keys by holding down the Alt key and pressing an access key. Some browsers also require you to then press the enter key. For example, when using Microsoft Internet Explorer you will need to press enter after an access key shortcut. When using Mozilla browsers, you do not need to press the enter key.
Mac users use the Ctrl key instead of the Alt key and so must hold down Ctrl and then press an accesskey.
Change the website to suit you
This website has been designed to be flexible enough to allow you to control the way it is presented on the screen. All common browsers allow you to change the size of text on the screen and change the colours of text and backgrounds.
If your browser supports it, you may also find a “style” menu at the side of each page. This menu allows you to change the way the site looks. It provides options for changing the size of the text and colour contrast on the pages of this website. For this feature to work correctly, you must have JavaScript enabled in your browser and allow the use of “cookies”. Cookies are useful things that allow your customised preferences to be stored.
